Dataforth announces partnership with eagle.io to advance IoT cloud-based remote monitoring systems

July 24, 2019 - Dataforth Corporation has partnered with eagle.io to enable customers to use their MAQ20 system and eagle.io’s cloud-based software to build an IoT cloud-based remote monitoring system. Designed to remotely monitor environmental sensors, their website states that eagle.io enables users to “acquire data in real-time from any data logger or text file, transform data automatically using processing and logic, receive alerts for critical events, and share access with clients.”

In addition to remote monitoring, eagle.io supports the acquisition and storage of up to 20,000 records per data source per day. Data is always stored in a raw unprocessed format with optional quality information. Via the user interface, data can be displayed and exported in a tabular or chart format and as either raw or processed data.

When starting with an eagle.io connection, MAQ20 users first pinpoint their location on a map. They then select the parameters they want to display for each particular workspace they set up. These are used to create a chart of the parameters and a dashboard with graphic displays. The data displayed is simultaneously available in real-time to all MAQ20 users having access via an eagle.io account.

Dataforth’s weather station is being used to showcase for MAQ20 users the advantages of an eagle.io connection. A commercial weather station and its sensors at the Tucson facility are connected to a MAQ20 system that is connected to an eagle.io demo account through the Internet. Users can view the real-time weather reports simultaneously, wherever they are in the world and without needing their own software.
